About this happenin

First Saturdays has been putting a party inside the Brooklyn Museum for more than 25 years. On the first Saturday evening of select months, the museum at 200 Eastern Parkway opens its doors at 5pm, with art, music, dancing, films, talks and readings spread through the building and signature cocktails at the bar. It is always free, but you have to register in advance. The link goes up on the series page in the weeks before each night, and getting in still depends on capacity when you arrive. Use the front entrance. Doors close 30 minutes before the night ends, and coat check is limited and first come, first served. Each night has its own theme, often tied to a heritage month such as Black History Month in February.
