Eldridge Street between Canal and Division Streets, New York, NY 10002
About this happenin
Egg rolls, egg creams and empanadas go on sale side by side for one Sunday afternoon in June, from noon to 4 p.m., on Eldridge Street between Canal and Division Streets. The festival fills the block in front of the Eldridge Street Synagogue, home of the Museum at Eldridge Street, and getting in is free. The museum has run the festival as a summer tradition on the Lower East Side since 2001. It mixes Chinese, Jewish and Puerto Rican food and crafts, with artisans at their tables and performers on a stage and out in the street. Other food is sold alongside the three in the name. The museum put attendance at about 13,000 for one recent edition.
