About this happenin
The Alliance for Coney Island sets off free fireworks over the beach on Friday nights through the summer, a 10-week series with a Fourth of July show added on top. Nobody needs a ticket. The Alliance's own advice is to bring the family down to the sand and watch the fireworks go up along the sea horizon. The Q, N, D and F trains all end at Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue, and the station is accessible on all four lines. The same group runs Flicks on the Beach, free movies on a jumbo inflatable screen on Monday evenings for eight weeks every summer.
More in June: 14 other New York events.
