About this happenin

Brooklyn Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon Street, hosts the Brooklyn Book Festival on a Sunday in September. It is a free day of author talks and book browsing, started in 2006, and its organisers bill it as New York City's largest free literary festival. Stages run indoors and out at Borough Hall and the venues and parks around it, and a Literary Marketplace sets up alongside them. The Saturday before is Children's Day, a family day with its own book market. Bookend events fill the week around the festival in all five boroughs and online, and the organisers say they are overwhelmingly free. Brooklyn Book Festival, Inc. and its Literary Council put it on.
