About this happenin
More than 40 bands play the Brooklyn Folk Festival over three days inside St. Ann's Church on Montague Street, in Brooklyn Heights. The music is American and world folk, and local players share the bill with acts from around the country and abroad. Jalopy Theatre & School of Music, a nonprofit grassroots community space, has produced it since 2009. Away from the main stage, the church hosts vocal and instrumental workshops, family-friendly dances, jam sessions and film screenings. The Banjo Toss contest is part of it too. Tickets are sold through Viewcy. Volunteers who work two shifts get in free.
