Every Wednesday evening from March into early May, local bands play from 5 to 8 p.m. on the lawn at Lafayette Square in New Orleans' Central Business District. Wednesday at the Square is free, and the Young Leadership Council (YLC) runs it. An average of more than 4,500 people turn up each week. YLC is a volunteer group for professionals aged 21 to 42, and the food and drink sold on the grass pays for its community projects, so outside food and beverages are not allowed. Stands take cards, and anyone who prefers cash can load a gift card at the information tent on North Maestri Street. Pets on a leash of six feet or less are fine, and Premium Parking has multiple lots within walking distance. Go early if you want room on the lawn. Rain cancellations are posted on the series' social accounts. The VIP area has its own bar and restrooms.
