Local bands play free on the lawn at Heritage Park in Historic Rivertown, Kenner, every Friday in May from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Opening night can fall on the first or second Friday, and the band schedule goes up each spring on the city's Music & Movies in the Park page. The concerts go ahead weather permitting. If the sky looks threatening, the city's number is 504-468-7240. Food and craft vendors apply to the city each spring, so there is usually something to eat, though nobody may bring in outside food or drink. The City of Kenner has put the series on since at least 2009.
