The Town of Jean Lafitte holds its Seafood Festival over a three-day weekend on the Auditorium grounds at 4953 City Park Drive, about 23 miles from downtown New Orleans. Next door, the Wetland Trace boardwalk runs through 41 acres of cypress swamp beside Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, so between sets you can walk into the swamp. The food leans local: boiled and fried seafood alongside classic Louisiana plates. A main stage runs all weekend with local and national acts. There are carnival rides and an art walk, and kayaks can be rented. Tickets are sold at the gate only. Recent editions charged $10 on Friday and Sunday and $20 on Saturday, with children 12 and under free. The dates have moved: April in 2024, then the end of May in 2025 and 2026.
