Cosplayers can walk over in costume: the nearest South Beach hotels are about eight minutes from the convention center.
The Miami Beach Convention Center fills every July with Florida Supercon, a three-day pop culture convention that runs Friday through Sunday. Mike Broder founded it, and it changed hands in 2019. The floor is comics, anime, games and wrestling, with hundreds of exhibitors and an Artist Alley where working creators sell their own art. Celebrity guests sign autographs and pose for photo ops, and voice actors from anime and video games take the panel stages. Cosplay Central hosts the costume competition, and Family HQ runs workshops and free play for younger kids. After Dark keeps the show going until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Doors open at 10 AM. Friday and Saturday close at 7 PM, Sunday at 5 PM. Tickets are sold online only and have started at $53 for a single day. Everyone six and older needs one, with a reduced rate for ages 6 to 12. Miami Beach High School sells limited parking.
