About this happenin
Paranormal Activity had its premiere at Screamfest in 2007. The festival shows new independent horror from the US and abroad, features and shorts along with student films, at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres on the third floor of the Ovation Hollywood complex. Two film producers, Rachel Belofsky and Ross Martin, founded it in August 2001, and it bills itself as the largest and longest running horror festival in the United States. Opening night has a black carpet. Awards go to the best picture, director, makeup and special effects, among other categories. You can buy single tickets or a festival badge. The Ovation Hollywood garage has entrances on Highland Avenue and Orange Drive, and with validation from the theater it costs $3 for up to four hours.
