Pasadena Black History Festival
1081 N Fair Oaks Ave, Pasadena, CA 91103
About this happenin
Robinson Park hosts Pasadena's Black History Festival on a Saturday in February, during Black History Month. The City of Pasadena puts it on with the Black History Planning Committee, and it has been going for more than four decades. Entry is free. Local middle and high school students perform, and artists from Pasadena's own community take the stage. Food trucks line up, and local organizations staff resource booths. A classic car show is part of the day when the car clubs can bring their cars. A parade, which the city once called Southern California's largest and longest-running Black History Parade, used to lead into the festival. The committee called it off after the Eaton Fire and has kept the festival going without it. A Grand Marshal is honored every year.
More in February: 6 other Los Angeles events.
