Keels & Wheels puts classic cars on the lawn and antique boats in the slips at the Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, at the eastern end of Clear Lake, for one weekend in late April. The organisers call it the largest classic car and antique boat show in the United States. More than 200 cars and boats are shown, and entrants and visitors come from around the country. Judging happens on Saturday morning, class by class, and Best of Show awards are given in each major category. A Collector of the Year is honoured as well. Food is sold inside the club and at an outdoor food court, and vendor booths are open both days. Club Concours is the VIP tent on the water, with drinks, hors d'oeuvres and live music included, and its members also get into a welcome cocktail party on the Friday night. Gates open at 10 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday. Parking along NASA Parkway and Highway 146 is free, and free shuttles run from lots in Nassau Bay and Seabrook. Pets and coolers are not allowed. The show is run by a 501(c)(3), with the City of Seabrook as host city.
