Katy Rice Harvest Festival
901 Avenue C, Katy, TX 77493
About this happenin
Katy celebrates its history with the Rice Harvest Festival, a weekend in October on the Historic Town Square in front of City Hall. Net proceeds benefit the Rotary Club of Katy and go back into the town as scholarships and support for local nonprofits. More than 100 vendor booths sell crafted goods, food trucks serve the Square, and a main stage has live music. There is a beer garden. The carnival needs its own ride tickets. For children there is an agriculture adventure area and a toddler zone. The parade comes a week earlier, stepping off at 9 a.m. on the Saturday before, and one of its awards is Best Use of Rice. Katy ISD art students from kindergarten through 12th grade enter the festival's art contest. Admission is ticketed, and children 12 and under get in free. Parking at the Merrell Center is free, with a shuttle to the festival.
More in October: 13 other Houston events.
