About this happenin
Costumed volunteers and re-enactors cover more than 100 years of Texas history at Frontier Days, held on a Saturday in November at The George Ranch in Richmond. It is the ranch's biggest living history event of the year. Expect battle re-enactments and cattle working demonstrations, and the historic homes open for tours. The day also has games, hands-on activities, music, vendors and food trucks. Frontier Days needs its own ticket, since general admission to the ranch doesn't cover it. School groups come on the Thursday and Friday before, when students walk through a pioneer village, find a cowboy cookout on the cattle drive trail, pitch in on a sharecropper's farm and learn about soldiers in World War II.
