Texas Frightmare Weekend

About this happenin

For three days each May, the Irving Convention Center on West Las Colinas Boulevard in Irving hosts Texas Frightmare Weekend, a horror convention that has run in the Dallas area since 2006. It started at the small Grapevine Convention Center and moved to Irving in 2023. Arrow Video has sponsored it since 2012. Guests sign autographs all three days, and dealers bring horror memorabilia from across the country. Screenings and panels run until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Texas filmmakers get screenings and Q&As of their own, and the annual Fake Trailer Showcase screens homemade horror trailers. Guests and vendors open Friday evening and close Sunday afternoon. A ticket covers admission only. Autographs are bought at each guest's booth and pro photo ops cost extra, and no ticket guarantees you meet a particular guest. The busiest signing lines use a virtual queue. Children 12 and under get in free with a parent or guardian, and tickets stay on sale through the weekend unless they sell out.
