The Omni Dallas, one of the downtown Dallas hotels, has a skybridge from its third floor into the convention center, and the street walk is five minutes. Self-parking is $30 overnight, with in and out privileges.

Fans of comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, gaming and cosplay fill the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in downtown Dallas for FAN EXPO Dallas, a three-day convention each June. The organiser puts the crowd at 65,000. Celebrity guests, movie stars and voice actors among them, sign autographs all weekend, and photo ops are shot by a professional photographer. Comic creators hold Q&A panels and Sketch Duels. The Gaming Arena runs video game tournaments next to free play and tabletop games, and anime fans meet voice actors and head to cosplay meetups. Friday runs 4 to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Advance buyers of a 3-Day, VIP or Ultimate pass get a special preview at 2 p.m. on Friday.
