About this happenin
Haggard Park in downtown Plano hosts the Plano International Festival on a Saturday in mid-October, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A volunteer nonprofit has run it since 2005, and it calls itself the largest and longest-running multicultural festival in North Texas. Admission and parking are free. Local community groups, schools and clubs keep the gazebo main stage going with music, dance and acrobatics, and a heritage fashion show presents cultural dress from around the world. Cultural and community booths, food trucks and the Children's Global Village, where every activity is free, fill the rest of the park. A Wellness Fair and FitZone runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Courtyard Theater and Saigling House with free health screenings and fitness demos.
More in October: 17 other Dallas-Fort Worth events.
