Wright Plus Housewalk

About this happenin

Wright Plus is the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust's annual housewalk in Oak Park, held on one Saturday in May. For that day only, owners of private homes designed by Wright and his contemporaries let ticket holders inside. The houses keep their original exteriors, while the rooms have been done over to suit whoever lives there now. Guides at the houses explain the history and the details that give each one its character, and volunteers talk to the queue while it waits to get in. Some public buildings by Wright and the architects around him open as part of the walk too. The Trust is a registered 501(c)(3), and proceeds from the day pay for its restoration and preservation work and its education programs.
