Historic Pullman House Tour
11141 S Cottage Grove Ave, Chicago, IL 60628
About this happenin
Residents of Pullman, the 1880s planned town that is now a national historical park in Chicago, open their houses for the Historic Pullman House Tour, a self-guided weekend in October. Tickets are picked up at the Pullman Exhibit Hall, 11141 S. Cottage Grove Ave. The organizers choose different homes each year, so a visit shows restored period interiors next to modern renovations, behind exteriors that keep their historic details. A few public buildings open as well, and there is live music and food, with antique cars on Sunday. Houses are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Friends of Pullman National Historical Park and the Pullman Civic Organization have co-sponsored the tour since 1973. Advance tickets cost less on Eventbrite. Parking is free around the neighborhood, and Metra Electric stops at 111th Street.
