About this happenin
Douglass Park, a few blocks from the CTA Pink Line's California stop, hosts Riot Fest, a three-day outdoor music festival. It began in 2005 as a multi-venue weekend of punk and rock shows in Chicago and moved outdoors in 2012, first to Humboldt Park. Punk, rock, alternative, metal and hip-hop acts share the stages, and carnival rides and sideshow performers sit alongside the food vendors. The festival is independent and sells its tickets through Tixr. It is all ages, and children five and under get in free with a ticket-holding adult. Riot Fest runs rain or shine. General admission tickets do not allow re-entry, and outside food and drink is not allowed. The organizers work with the Chicago Park District on improvements to Douglass Park, and a Community Corner on the grounds features local businesses and artists.
More in September: 21 other Chicago events.
