About this happenin
The Chosen Few Picnic and Music Festival is a one-day house music picnic in Jackson Park on Chicago's South Side, thrown each July by the Chosen Few DJs. It started in 1990 as a small gathering behind the Museum of Science and Industry, and the organiser now calls it the world's longest-running house music festival. The crew plays through the day with guest DJs and live singers, and the crowd runs past 40,000. Tents up to 20 by 20 feet are allowed in the general areas, and so is your own food and drink as long as none of it is in glass. Nobody can save space ahead of time. Kids 12 and under get in free. Cars have to be parked by 11 a.m., with no re-entry to the lots, and the picnic goes ahead rain or shine.
