About this happenin
Northalsted Market Days is the August street festival on Halsted Street between Belmont and Addison, in Chicago's Northalsted neighborhood. Half a mile of closed street holds four stages of live music, more than 250 vendors, dance exhibitions and drag performance. It runs Friday through Sunday, rain or shine, with Friday opening in the late afternoon, the weekend days at 11 a.m. and all three closing at 10 p.m. Entry is a suggested donation at the gate, which pays performers and festival workers and supports charities and community programs, including the Chicago Pride Crosswalks. Bags are inspected at the entry gates, large bags and coolers are out, and so is outside alcohol. Leashed dogs are welcome, though the organizers suggest leaving before 5 p.m. with one. The Belmont station on the Red, Brown and Purple Lines is two blocks away.
