About this happenin

Twice a week all summer, Navy Pier sends free fireworks up over Lake Michigan from 600 E. Grand Avenue. Wednesday shows start at 9 p.m. Saturday shows start at 10. The most recent season ran 30 nights, from the Saturday before Memorial Day to the first Saturday of September. Nobody needs a ticket, and there is nothing to buy. The bursts go up over the water with the city skyline beside them, and readers of USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Travel Awards voted the pier the best place to see fireworks.
