Navy Pier New Year's Eve Fireworks

About this happenin

Midnight on New Year's Eve brings a free fireworks show over the lake at Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Avenue. The listed start is 11:59 p.m., so the first shells go up as the clock strikes twelve. It lasts about ten minutes and is synchronized to music, and the pier calls the show award-winning. There is no ticket to buy. The pier's one piece of advice is to arrive early for a good spot to watch the countdown from. In summer the same pier puts on fireworks every Wednesday and Saturday night, a separate series that starts around Memorial Day.
