Sable at Navy Pier, the one Streeterville hotel on the pier itself, is a 10-minute walk from the fair in Festival Hall. If you drive, its $76 valet lets you take the car out and back, which Navy Pier's $65 garage does not.
About this happenin
EXPO CHICAGO is a contemporary and modern art fair that brings leading galleries to Festival Hall at Navy Pier each April. Talks run on site between the booths. Panels under the Dialogues name look at the themes, artists and partnerships behind the work on show, while Exchange by Northern Trust covers the contemporary art market and its current trends. Non-profits, museums and other cultural organizations get their own presentations in EXPO Projects. With Independent Curators International, the fair hosts a Curatorial Forum whose conference is free and open to the public with registration. For a few weeks around the fair, OVERRIDE puts artworks on screens across Chicago's City Digital Network. It is a citywide public art project presented with the city's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.
More in April: 6 other Chicago events.
