About this happenin
About 150 artist booths line the closed streets of downtown Evanston for the Evanston Art and Big Fork Festival, a free art fair held on a Saturday and Sunday in late August. Amdur Productions of Highland Park runs it, and food vendors set up among the booths. Prices run across the range, so college students and long-time collectors both find something. The work covers paintings, sculpture, photography, handmade jewelry, furniture, glass, wood, wearable art and pieces made from recycled material. Artists keep all of their sales, and awards are handed out during the weekend.
More in August: 13 other Chicago events.
