About this happenin

More than 80 zinesters sell and trade their work at Chicago Zine Fest, a free one-day festival of small press and independent publishing held on a Saturday in downtown Chicago. The last two fests took over the Winter Garden on the 9th floor of the Harold Washington Library Center, in partnership with Chicago Public Library. Earlier ones were held at Plumbers Union Hall. Panels and workshops are open to anyone, and nobody needs to reserve a seat. Kids can make a zine of their own for free at an activity table, and many exhibitors sell zines written with younger readers in mind. There is no dedicated parking, only paid street spaces and lots nearby.
