About this happenin

The Chicago Critics Film Festival is a week of films picked by critics, shown each May at the Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Avenue. The Chicago Film Critics Association presents it and volunteers run it. It bills itself as the only film festival in Chicago programmed by critics. Seating is not assigned. Doors open an hour before the first showtime each day, so come early if you care where you sit. A festival pass gets you into every screening with no ticket needed, while parties, panels and other non-film events take a ticket of their own. Through the week, association members publish essays and interviews about the films on the festival's Spotlight page.
