Canaveral National Seashore
About
Playalinda, the south end of Canaveral National Seashore near Titusville, has the park's closest view of a launch. On launch days its beach road shuts 30 minutes before liftoff, and NASA can close parts of the park without notice. Apollo, the other drive-in end, is in New Smyrna Beach, and neither entrance station takes cash. Beach camping isn't allowed; the 14 backcountry campsites are on islands in Mosquito Lagoon, which covers more than two-thirds of the park.
