About this happenin

Tampa's city-run Fourth of July celebration fills Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park with live bands, food trucks and a fireworks finale over the Hillsborough River. Admission is free and the day is built around families: a kids zone, a patriotic pet show, a water ski exhibition on the river and a beer garden for the grown-ups, with recent editions adding a drone show ahead of the shells. The city has occasionally spread the night across Armature Works and Sparkman Wharf instead, and the branding has changed for special occasions, so check the city page before you pick your spot. Know before you go: entry is free and open to the public, with activities through the afternoon and evening and fireworks closing the night. On-site parking at the park is limited, so downtown garages, the fare-free TECO Line Streetcar and the city's free event trolleys are the easier way in. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome; glass, grills, personal fireworks, drones and outside alcohol are not.
