Tampa Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade
2900 N 15th St, Tampa, FL 33605
About this happenin
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a two-mile procession of marching bands, floats, horses and motorcycles rolls through East Tampa in front of tens of thousands. The Dr. Martin Luther King Parade Foundation has staged it since 2014, and the line-up leans on brass: visiting HBCU marching bands headline alongside high school bands, dance teams, classic cars, motorcycle clubs and church floats, with beads and candy going out to the kids at the barricades. Know before you go: the parade lines up at Cuscaden Park, 2900 N 15th Street, steps off at noon and finishes near Middleton High School on N 22nd Street. Watching from the curb is free, and vendors set up along the route with food, drinks and souvenirs. Closures on N 15th Street, N 22nd Street, E 21st Avenue and E Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard typically run from early morning until early evening, so park a few blocks off the route and walk in. Bring a bag for the candy.
