The 50th running of the Gasparilla Distance Classic takes over Bayshore Boulevard on February 20 and 21, 2027, and the course is why people travel for it. It's flat and out and back along the water, with Bayshore's balustrade and the bay beside you the whole way. Saturday is the 15K and 5K, Sunday the half marathon and 8K, and you can stack them into a challenge if one isn't enough. The all volunteer association behind it has sent $7 million to Tampa Bay youth programs since 1978, so the entry fee lands somewhere useful.
