About this happenin
New York Comic Con fills the Javits Center, at 429 11th Avenue, for four days every October, Thursday through Sunday. It has run since 2006, and ReedPop, the company behind it, calls it the East Coast's largest pop culture convention. The show floor and Artist Alley take up most of the building, and panels run well into the evening. Cosplay Central hosts the Crown Championships, and costumed fans spill onto the Javits inner roadway for photos. Family HQ runs workshops that come with a ticket, plus the Star Wars March, and children get their own cosplay showcases. At recent shows the floor opened at 10 a.m., closed at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 5 p.m. on Sunday, and Artist Alley stayed open until 8. Will Call is in the Crystal Palace.
More in October: 12 other New York events.
