About this happenin
Rip a costume at Anime NYC and there is a station to fix it. The Paladins of Cosplay run a repair desk in Destination Cosplay for split seams and torn fabric, and there are changing stalls in the same space. The show runs Thursday to Sunday in late August at the Javits Center. LeftField Media, a company of fans and convention organizers, puts it on and calls it the largest anime convention on the East Coast. Exhibitors and Artist Alley take the show floor, with a Japanese food court alongside. Panels go until 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The Family Zone is set up for children 12 and younger, with crafts and a manga reading corner, and it costs nothing beyond the ticket. Everyone six and older needs a badge, and children 12 and under have to stay with an adult. Thursday opens at 1 p.m., the other days at 10.
More in August: 9 other New York events.
