Christmas in Historic Richmond Town

Staten Island's Historic Richmond Town, which calls itself New York City's only living history village, dresses for Christmas over a weekend in December. Both days run from noon to 4 p.m. The village tradespeople give living history demonstrations and sell the gifts and crafts they make. Santa and his helpers come by, and an old-fashioned horse-drawn carriage does the rounds. Local food and sweets are on sale. Admission is at the museum's special event pricing, and the candlelight tours of the village are ticketed separately. The tree lighting is its own free evening around the same time, with music from local groups and hot drinks for sale.
