About this happenin

Better Chinatown USA, a volunteer group founded in 2001, runs the Lunar New Year parade through Chinatown in lower Manhattan on a Sunday a couple of weeks after the holiday, so the date moves between mid-February and early March. The parade steps off at 1 p.m. Festival booths line Bayard Street between Mulberry and Mott Streets on parade day, and in recent years they have run from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The same group holds a Firecracker Ceremony and cultural festival on Lunar New Year's Day itself, in Sara D. Roosevelt Park, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

More in February: 5 other New York events.
