New Orleans Pridefest
Woldenberg Riverfront Park Esplanade, New Orleans, LA
About this happenin
Every June, New Orleans Pridefest fills the Woldenberg Riverfront Park Esplanade beside the Mississippi with free evening music, from late afternoon to 10 p.m., paid for by donations. A community nonprofit runs it. It started more than ten years ago as a block party outside the Phoenix Bar in the Marigny, in a city whose Pride celebrations go back to the 1970s, and it spread across several blocks before settling on the riverfront. The organizers book new and emerging LGBTQ+ artists from across the Gulf Coast. Passes and add-on events are sold separately at nolapridefest.com. The Pride parade is a separate event run by New Orleans Pride. Food trucks and snoball stands feed the crowd, and community vendors from local nonprofits and health services have booths alongside.
