Los Isleños Fiesta
1357 Bayou Rd, St. Bernard, LA 70085
About this happenin
Canary Islanders settled St. Bernard Parish between 1778 and 1783, and the Los Isleños Fiesta marks it with two days in early to mid March on the grounds of the Los Isleños museum village at 1357 Bayou Road in St. Bernard. Folk groups from the Canary Islands dance in traditional dress on the stage, and the rest of the schedule is local, with acts such as a Filipino group and zydeco bands. Saturday night is pop. Crafts and living-history demonstrations fill the grounds, and there are rides. In 2026 admission was $5, with children 12 and under free. The gates opened at 11 a.m. both days and closed at 10 p.m. Saturday and 9 p.m. Sunday. Parking is free, with a shuttle from J.F. Gauthier School. Volunteers from the Los Isleños Heritage and Cultural Society, founded in 1976, still run the kitchen, and it turns out caldo and ropa vieja alongside dishes from mainland Spain.
More in March: 14 other New Orleans events.
