The City of Tomball boils crawfish at the Tomball Depot Plaza, 201 S. Elm St., for Rails & Tails, its mudbug festival on a Saturday in late April. It runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with live music from noon. The crawfish come spicy, with other Cajun dishes and the usual festival food and drinks beside them. Vendors sell merchandise, and the Cajun Kids Zone is set up for younger children. The city says thousands of crawfish and music fans come from across southeast Texas. Admission and parking are free.
