About this happenin
Korean Festival Houston, known as K-Fest, is a free weekend festival at Discovery Green in downtown Houston each October. The Korean American Society of Houston, a volunteer-run nonprofit, held the first one in 2009 in the parking lot of Houston Community College's Spring Branch campus and moved it to Discovery Green the next year. The festival now counts more than 65,000 visitors in a single weekend. K-pop and Korean traditional performers take the main stage, with dance showcases and traditional arts on the other stages. Food vendors sell dishes such as tteokbokki and bibimbap, and other stalls sell crafts and cultural goods. Admission is free with a ticket reserved online. A paid VIP pass adds a private tent with seating, cooling stations, drinks and scheduled food tastings. K-Fest is certified sensory-inclusive through KultureCity.
More in October: 13 other Houston events.
