Houston Latino Film Festival
3400 Main Street, Houston, TX 77002
About this happenin
The Houston Latino Film Festival shows Latino cinema for five days each March in Midtown. Recent editions have screened at the Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston (MATCH), 3400 Main Street, which is also the festival's address. A nonprofit run by its co-founders, it began in 2016 as a two-day grassroots festival in the East End. The program mixes features and documentaries with short films from Latin America and the Latino diaspora. Filmmakers take part in conversations and workshops, and the festival makes room for visual art and music alongside the screenings. The Ojo Awards go to narrative, documentary, short, student, Texas and Houston filmmaking. Cine de Muertos and other series run through the rest of the year.
