About this happenin

Screenings for the Houston Cinema Arts Festival are spread across the city, at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Rice Cinema, The DeLUXE Theater, the River Oaks Theatre and other venues. The Houston Cinema Arts Society, a nonprofit, holds it for about a week and a half each fall. Passes are sold to the public online. Some events cost nothing, the opening night reception among them, though they ask for an RSVP. Finalists from CineSpace, a short film contest the society runs with NASA for films made with real NASA imagery, screen at the festival.

More in October: 13 other Houston events.
