More than a million lights go up along The Woodlands Waterway in Town Center from late November to early January for Holiday on The Waterway, a free display run by The Woodlands Township Parks & Recreation Department. The trail has light tunnels and sparkling arches, and oversized lit bows and presents that people stop to photograph. The free Town Center Trolley stops at The Woodlands Mall, Market Street, Waterway Square and Hughes Landing, and it is busiest from 6 to 8 p.m. Parking is in Township garages and lots around Town Center, some paid and some free. Market Street's spaces are for its own customers. The indoor ice rink opens for the season, and swan boat rides leave from the Riva Row Boat House.
