The Christmas Boat Lane Parade sends more than 60 brightly decorated power boats and sailboats down Clear Lake and through the Kemah Channel, past the Kemah Boardwalk, on a Saturday evening in December. The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce produces it, presented by the cities of Clear Lake Shores, Kemah, League City, Nassau Bay, Seabrook and Webster. Fireworks in Nassau Bay at 6 p.m. mark the start. The boats leave the Nassau Bay Lagoon and the South Shore Harbour Marina, travel the full length of Clear Lake and reach the Boardwalk about 7:30 p.m. The chamber says more than 100,000 people watch from shore and from hundreds of boats anchored in the lake. Public viewing is at the Kemah Boardwalk, both sides of the Kemah and Seabrook channel, the Nassau Bay Lagoon, South Shore Harbour Marina, Clear Lake Shores and the Davis Road Canal at Constellation Pointe. Skippers meet that morning, and an awards brunch with reserved, ticketed seating follows on Sunday.
