Park Cities 4th of July Parade
4700 Drexel Dr, Highland Park, TX 75205
About this happenin
The Park Cities 4th of July Parade starts at 9 a.m. on Euclid Avenue by Highland Park Town Hall and finishes about an hour later at Centennial Park, next to University Park City Hall. The Rotary Club of Park Cities runs it. It goes ahead rain or shine, and if there is lightning, Highland Park police and fire decide whether it rolls. Every entry is decorated on a patriotic theme. Floats, horses, antique cars and school groups all line up. Entering costs nothing, and Rotary asks entrants to give to the North Texas Food Bank instead; the club says the parade has raised enough for more than 2.4 million meals. The best decorated float wins a trophy its owner keeps for a year. A free festival follows in the park.
