Levitt Pavilion Arlington Free Concert Season
100 W Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010
About this happenin
More than 50 free concerts a season play the Levitt Pavilion stage at Founders Plaza, 100 West Abram Street in downtown Arlington. The pavilion opened in 2008. A separate nonprofit, the Friends of the Levitt Pavilion Arlington, programs the music and pays for it with sponsorships, grants, donors and the audience donations volunteers collect each night. A few concerts a year carry a ticket, which helps cover the free ones. There is a spring run and a fall run. August is skipped because the heat keeps audiences home. Artists have to play at least 80 percent original material. People bring lawn chairs and blankets for the Brock-Saxe Great Lawn, which holds about 3,500, and there is seating on the low walls around it. Food trucks come to every concert, and the Candlelite Inn Cantina on the grounds sells beer, wine and soft drinks. At the free shows you can bring your own cooler as long as nothing in it is glass. Leashed dogs are welcome. Parking around the plaza is free, and most people arrive about an hour before the music.
