Fort Worth's Fourth
395 Purcey Street, Fort Worth, TX 76102
About this happenin
Tens of thousands of people spend the Fourth of July on the banks of the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth for Fort Worth's Fourth, a free festival that ends with a fireworks show. The Tarrant Regional Water District produces it. Parking lots open at 3pm and gates at 5. Food vendors sell turkey legs, corn dogs, street tacos, crawfish and funnel cakes, and bars around the grounds pour beer and wine. Bands play through the evening. Kids' activities run from 5 to 8pm, with face painting, inflatables, water slides and a zip line. You can float in the roped swim area on your own tube until 8pm, when the water is cleared. There are no tube rentals. Children 12 and under wear a life jacket in the water, and the district hands them out free while they last. The fireworks start around 9:30pm and last about half an hour. Chairs and blankets are fine, and tents have to come down by 8pm so they don't block anyone's view. Coolers and outside food are not allowed. Fox 4 livestreams the show, and 95.9 The Ranch plays the music that is synced to it.
