About this happenin

Charros and escaramuzas on horseback lead the Fiestas Patrias Parade down Exchange Avenue in the Fort Worth Stockyards each September, opening Hispanic Heritage Month. Behind them come dancing horses, floats, Hispanic organizations, universities, the Consul General of Mexico and Fort Worth city officials. The Fort Worth Herd's longhorn cattle drive goes through just before the parade starts. Ballet folklorico, live music, vendors and giveaways fill the historic district around it, and the music and dancing in front of Cowtown Coliseum run into the afternoon. The Spirit of Mexico equestrian show inside the coliseum is ticketed.
