About this happenin
Monarch butterflies pass through Grapevine on their migration from Canada to Mexico, and Butterfly Flutterby is a free festival for them at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens at Heritage Park, 411 Ball Street. Families are invited, pets included, and the costume contest has had a pet category next to its children's age groups. Live butterflies have been released several times through the day. There has also been an arts and crafts station, with butterfly merchandise and snacks for sale. Transition to Beauty, a permanent 22-foot butterfly sculpture, greets visitors to the gardens, and the organizer asks you to stop for a picture. Recent festivals have run on a Saturday in October from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
More in October: 17 other Dallas-Fort Worth events.
