Art in the Square

About this happenin

Southlake Town Square fills with artist booths for Art in the Square, a three-day juried fine art festival the Southlake Women's Club has put on since 2000. It is usually held on the last weekend in April. More than 150 artists show work in oil, watercolor, sculpture, jewelry, fiber, photography and more, and tens of thousands of people come. There is no admission fee, and the net proceeds go to local charities for women, children and families. Music runs all weekend on two stages, the main stage and a gazebo stage for local acts and family shows. Food and drink are sold along the bistro walk, cards only, and alcohol is for anyone 21 or older and stays inside the festival area. Area high school students show juried work in the Youth Art exhibit, with cash awards. Kids Korner has face painting and canvas painting for younger children. The Kids Zone, for teens and tweens, has a bungee jump and a rock climbing wall. Parking in the Town Square lots and garages is free.

More in April: 12 other Dallas-Fort Worth events.
